I came into 2021 with the mindset of this is going to be the year I make my photography and videography business my main source of income. I knew capturing life memories into photos and videos were the way I wanted to go so I knew in order to break through into the industry I first had to build up my portfolio.
Attending a styled shoot is like attending a conference, a workshop or networking event. It is a way for you to meet others who are collectively trying to achieve the same goal but also talk, learn and try out different things during it. It’s a great way to adding to an already existing portfolio and really allows you to try out new techniques you wouldn’t want to attempt for the first time during a real wedding.
I had a great time networking and learning new ways to capture a wedding and was overall very pleased with my results. I plan to attend several more styled shoots in the upcoming months to further add to my portfolio and can only hope that my future couples I work with will choose me to be their historian!
