If you’ve been following my blog, you might recognize this family—and you’d be absolutely right. This is the Bonagura family, who recently celebrated a big milestone. Just two months before this session, Alexis and David Bonagura tied the knot. For this shoot, we gathered in their backyard in Franklin Lakes before heading to the Thielke Arboretum in Glen Rock, New Jersey.
This family holds a special place in my heart. They’ve trusted me to capture some of their most meaningful moments. Over the past few months, I’ve had the honor of documenting their journey. From Alexis and David’s wedding to this portrait session, I’ve seen just how kind, joyful, and fun they are. It’s truly been a privilege to be their photographer during such an exciting time.
This session was especially unique. We planned it quickly because David’s brother, Alex, was home on a brief leave. He had just completed United States Marines bootcamp at Parris Island, South Carolina. With his limited time at home, Alexis and I worked fast to organize a family portrait session before Alex had to return to duty.
Moments like these are a powerful reminder of how important family is. Time moves so quickly, and these memories are priceless. Freezing these moments in photos allows them to be cherished forever.
