Wedisson Collection #128 Winner

Awards & Accolades

Hi, I'm Nick, a wedding photographer based in New Jersey and Florida. So glad you're here.

We’re proud to share that one of our photographs has been selected as a Wedisson Collection #128 Winner — an international wedding photography award that recognises emotional storytelling, creative vision, and technical excellence.

Out of 5,933 photographs submitted by photographers from 18 different countries, only 193 were selected. To have our work stand out among that global pool is surreal — but what matters more than the award itself is what this image represents.

It’s not about accolades. It’s about presence.

It’s about pressing pause on one very loud, very joyful moment — and capturing the kind of stillness that says more than a thousand words ever could.

You can revisit another recent recognition in WedAward Collection #117 to see how we continue to chase those in-between moments — the ones that are quiet, honest, and unexpectedly beautiful.

Why This Image Was Chosen

The photograph was taken outside a stone church, just minutes after the ceremony ended. The couple stood together on the steps, surrounded by their closest friends and family, laughter bubbling all around them in a send-off filled with confetti and cheers.

In the middle of it all — they kissed.

Not the posed, perfect kind of kiss. But the kind that feels lived-in. Grounded. Real.

There was movement everywhere. Arms in the air. Faces beaming. But the composition, the way the light hit, the way they stood so calmly in the centre of it all — that’s what caught my eye.

This image is a good reminder of why I do what I do. It’s the in-between moments. The quiet inside the noise. The calm inside the chaos.

That’s exactly why this photo didn’t just receive one award. It was also recognized in WedAward Collection #122 — another international honour that celebrates meaningful, storytelling-driven photography. For an image to be awarded by two separate juries says a lot, but for me, it simply reinforces that emotion will always outshine perfection.

What Is the Wedisson Award?

If you’re not familiar with the name, Wedisson Awards is an international wedding photography competition that releases monthly curated “Collections” of the best images submitted by photographers around the world. Each collection recognises photographers who are pushing the boundaries of storytelling, creativity, and emotion in wedding photography.

To win a Wedisson Award means your image has been handpicked from thousands — based on not just its technical strength, but the emotion it evokes.

  • 🌍 18 countries participated in Collection #128
  • 🖼 5,933 photographs were submitted
  • 🏆 193 winning images selected

Why Awards Like Wedisson Matter (But Aren’t the Goal)

Look — awards are great. But they’re not the why.

Being recognised in Wedisson Collection #128 is an honour, but it doesn’t change how I show up for my couples. The real win is when a client looks at a photo and says, “That’s us.” Or when a parent tears up flipping through an album because it brought them back to a moment they didn’t even realise had been captured.

Awards can never replace that.

They do, however, shine a light on the kind of work that matters to me: work that’s intentional, emotional, and deeply human.

The Story Behind the Winning Image

Every photo has a story. This one starts with a quiet church in the countryside.

The ceremony had just ended. The air was full of that post-ceremony buzz — hugs, chatter, the shuffle of feet as guests moved outside. Then the confetti came out. A bubble send-off — simple, spontaneous, perfect.

In the middle of it, the couple paused.

They leaned in for a kiss, and something about the way everything else moved around them while they stayed still… it felt cinematic. Like the world slowed down for just a breath.

I didn’t ask them to stop. I didn’t stage anything. That moment was theirs — I just happened to be watching, camera ready.

That’s the magic I’m always chasing. Not the Pinterest-perfect poses. But the stuff you feel before you even process what you’re seeing.

For another great example of this, check out the moment we captured in WedAward Collection #117 — one of my personal favourite black-and-white images to date.

My Approach to Award-Winning Photography

You won’t find me micromanaging a timeline or forcing awkward poses. I’m there for the honest stuff. The unscripted bits. The real.

When couples work with me, they know they’re getting someone who’s tuned into the emotional rhythm of the day. Someone who’s less focused on perfection — and more focused on presence.

The Wedisson Collection #128 Winner image didn’t win because it was perfectly posed. It won because it was real. Because you could feel something when you looked at it.

That’s what I want for every couple I work with — images that actually feel like their day, not someone else’s idea of what it should’ve looked like.
