I’m proud to share that four of my photographs were selected for WedAward Collection 131.

As an award-winning New Jersey and Florida wedding photographer, I’ve photographed celebrations in many different settings. No matter where a wedding takes place, my goal remains the same: to create photographs that feel personal, full of life, and true to the people in them.

Only about 3.6% of all submitted photographs were chosen for this collection. Having four images recognized among the final 49 is an incredible honor. More importantly, every photograph began with a real couple who trusted me to document one of the most important days of their lives.

What Is WedAward?

WedAward is an international community for wedding photographers that hosts photography competitions throughout the year. Photographers from around the world submit their work, and selected images are featured in WedAward’s online galleries. These recognitions also contribute to the organization’s annual photographer rankings.

Being selected is meaningful because each photograph is considered alongside work created across different countries, cultures, venues, lighting conditions, and photographic styles.

In WedAward Collection 131, only 49 of the 1,351 submitted photographs were chosen. Four of those photographs were mine.

This recognition is also part of a longer history with WedAward. My official WedAward profile includes more than 80 award-winning photographs, and I was named a Top 10 WedAward photographer for 2023.

I never want awards to become the reason I create. However, I value what they represent: consistency, creative awareness, technical skill, and the ability to recognize a photograph worth preserving while a real wedding is moving around me.

Why Having Four Photographs Selected Matters

One award-winning photograph is an honor. Having four photographs selected in the same international collection is especially meaningful because these images are not variations of the same idea.

Each photograph captures a different part of a wedding day and requires a different skill.

One required a quiet and intentional approach. Another relied on composition and the surrounding landscape. One depended on anticipating the energy of a crowded dance floor. The fourth brought an entire wedding party together in a playful group portrait.

Together, these photographs show the balance I want every couple to experience in their final gallery: polished portraits, creative composition, honest interaction, and documentary images that preserve how the celebration actually felt.

Quiet Confidence

This black-and-white bridal portrait places the bride beneath the soft layers of her veil, with her bouquet held close and light falling across the details of her gown. The veil adds movement and texture without hiding the expression that gives the photograph its strength.

I love the calmness of this image. Wedding days can move quickly, but this portrait feels unhurried. It shows how a simple pause, beautiful light, and thoughtful direction can create a photograph with real presence.

A Kiss on the Water

In this photograph, the newlyweds share a kiss aboard a boat as sunlight moves across the water behind them. I placed the couple toward one side of the frame so the open water, sky, and shoreline could become part of the story without taking attention away from them.

The result feels private and cinematic, as if everything else briefly went quiet. It is a reminder that a beautiful location should support a couple’s story without overpowering the connection between them.

At the Center of It All

Photographed from above in black and white, this image places the bride at the center of a packed wedding reception dance floor. Guests move around her, hold hands, laugh, and react in different directions, yet the composition still leads your eye directly to her.

Nothing on a dance floor stays still for long. This photograph depended on positioning, timing, and recognizing the shape of the moment before it disappeared.

That awareness is an important part of documentary wedding photography. Some of the strongest photographs happen in a fraction of a second, without the couple realizing I was there to capture them.

The Trolley Kiss

The bride and groom share a kiss aboard a white wedding trolley while their wedding party cheers below. Raised bouquets, open arms, children looking up, and the couple framed above the group give this photograph its personality.

It has the visual impact of a carefully arranged group portrait, but it does not feel stiff. The structure is intentional, while the reactions feel spontaneous and true to the people in the photograph.

That combination of guidance and natural interaction is what I want a wedding portrait to hold.

What Award-Winning Wedding Photography Means for My Couples

Awards are meaningful, but they are not the full measure of a wedding photographer.

Couples deserve more than one impressive photograph. They need someone who can work through changing light, manage a fast-moving timeline, anticipate emotional moments, guide portraits without making them feel forced, and document the celebration with consistency.

That work begins long before the wedding day. It includes learning what matters to each couple, helping them plan their photography timeline, becoming familiar with their venue, preparing for different lighting conditions, and giving them room to remain present with the people they love.
